TRinE Story: TRinE Dissemination Event at KIT

On January 10, 2023, the IMI Institute at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology hosted an event titled “Advantages and Limitations of Telepresence Robots in Education.” The event was aimed at educators and trainers, although all interested parties were welcome to attend.

Attendees had the opportunity to experience the technology of telepresence robotics through test drives of robots from OhmniLabs and Double. They could also connect with project partners in Greece, Austria, Malta, Iceland, and Germany through the use of provided computers.

The event featured a series of presentations and demonstrations from experts in the field, including Dr.-Ing. Polina Häfner from the IMI Institute at KIT, who presented on the “TRinE Project: Telepresence Robots in Education,” M.Sc. Martin Forell from the AIFB Institute at KIT, who spoke about “Robots in the Higher Education: Applications and Challenges,” and Quynh Huong Le from Humanizing Technologies GmbH, who presented on “Double 3 in Education.”

Following the event, numerous education institutions expressed interest in hosting demonstrations onsite. Therefore, the event was a huge success in spreading awareness and discussing how a Telepresence Robot can benefit today’s education.
